Waxploitation was founded in 1996 by Jeff Antebi and is best known for developing the careers of artists including Grammy Award winners like Gnarls Barkley, and Danger Mouse as well as Grammy Nominees like Broken Bells, Don Elektron (Ulyses Lozano), and R.L. Boyce.

Waxploitation has been a place for creative outsiders including Black Moth Super Rainbow, Tobacco, Nine Inch Nails alumna Chris Vrenna/Tweaker, and projects like Causes featuring Diplo, LCD Soundsytem, The Shins…Dark Night of the Soul with Danger Mouse, David Lynch, and Sparklehorse…ROME with Jack White and Norah Jones…as well as Stories for Ways & Means with Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Bon Iver, Devendra Banhart, Danny Devito, Zach Galifianakis, and more.
